Tips on Newspaper ads

First off, awesome forum. I just read the advanced section and those are some amazing tips.
I'd like to get into some offline marketing, possibly paying for some newspaper ads to promote cpa offers. The type would have to depend on some demographic research. I'm looking for some general tips such as average pricing, recommendations on ad size, etc. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Classified ads can generally be cheaper than general advertising. If you're looking to promote a biz-opp, post it in the "jobs" section. If you're looking to promote a car loan, promote it in the "cars" section. With classifieds you can target your market more accurately than with general advertising, which is where I would start if I were new.

You know, I thought about print ads, but am very hesitant.
Many great offers go down with only a days notice, and with the non-real time nature of print ads, I'm worried I'd be taking an unnecessary risk. Anyone have thoughts on this?

Sultorn -
What I've done is run a newspaper ad driving traffic to a very easy to remember domain name where I'm advertising an offer in a popular niche (ie with lots of competing offers). Then, if my best offer goes down, it's pretty easy to update the links/page to a new offer.
I agree, I wouldn't tackle a unique offer with no substitutes -- if you did do that for some reason and the offer went away, you could always switch to an opt-in page.

Are you using newspaper classified ads? You should be I have found placing classified ads in a couple of local papers gives me a consistent return of 3 to 5 times my investment. The funny thing is, off line advertising is in my opinion more effective than online advertising. Most people in these forums are promoting their opportunity or product with online marketing. This works of course if you know what you are doing but keep in mind that theres lots and lots of competition online.
