C2M Blog Is Closing

Posted by Ruck in November 24th 2009

I’ve decided to shut down the C2M blog. Honestly it’s sort of a joke anyway. Every single one of the affiliate network blogs I’ve seen are complete jokes as well. When I look at them I cant help but to laugh uncontrollably. Of course, every network blog out there also probably has some sort of “social specialist” that they hired to come in and post stupid shit about what their company is eating for lunch whereas I am not one of those types.

2 years ago and up until last year, a blog was THE way to stay connected with people. With the introductions to Facebook and Twitter though a blog is becoming increasingly “depreciated”. I used to blog and I loved it because I would read every day of other bloggers in my industry doing the same. My, has the apple fallen far from the tree. With the exception of some, the blogosphere in the CPA Industry has made my life a helleva a lot easier in the morning. I used to cruise to see what everyone was writing about every morning and generally spend an hour reading. It’s come down to less than 5 minutes now with the 5 blogs I checkout.

Here’s the funny part too. The 5 blogs I DO read have gone on to do some incredible things. (I know this for sure because they were publishers of mine). So, they dont write all that much because they are busy working. Seems like I almost owe it to them to read up on them everyday after all the hardwork they do.

HERE”S THE TWISTER

I run a very aggressive publisher program. It’s no secret about “our 60 day” rule. I dont even want to comment on how many publishers we’ve allowed to signup who have a blog and turned out to be completely full of it. The number is absolutely staggering.

Another part is finding some of your publishers using the info YOU gave them and make blog posts out of it and share it publically. Never mind even giving it a try and making some money themselves, let’s just give it to everyone.

So in short, the C2M blog could be used for news events and things like that, but again, …boring. I’m unstrapping the blog from my back and you will be able to catch me in the forum for now on. Which by the way brings me to this next part, we will be closing the forum down and only allowing publishers from Convert2media to participate as well. This keeps us private and will allow our publishers to get more use out of the information without a bunch of newbs stealing it and driving up bid prices everywhere.

(Edit Getting flooded with donts, just post whenever) Ok so the blog is in turmoil, will possibly be used as a news source or something but dont expect much.

If You Dont Own The Pics, Dont Use Them

Posted by Ruck in November 16th 2009

More of a public rant really than a constructive blog posts. I can answer a ton of publisher’s main questions regarding the use of images on their landing pages with one sentence here.

If you dont own it or have the rights to use it, then dont.

For all you gamers, you will most likely get away with it for awhile or even maybe for good but I’ve dealt with my fair share of Cease and Desists along with subpoenas this year and the shit is annoying.

Spend a buck or two and own the rights. It’s not worth losing an affiliate account over, your information being turned over in a subpoena or some other crap that is just going to slow and negatively impact your business.

Just a tip from a network owner.

Another C2M Millionaire Story

Posted by Ruck in October 22nd 2009

This is one of those stories where I’m up past midnight and feel like I just got to share. I dont know if you remember the first millionaire story on the blog but it got quite a bit of feedback from it. Tonight, I wanted to share another millionaire from Convert2Media’s short story. This one, I assure you is one for the books. When I sat down and started putting the pieces together to write this, I had to take a step back and have a moment of mad respect for this guy. I’ve got respect for all of our publishers but you really got to hear this one.

Current Revenue Earnings to Date from this publisher – $1,083,837.30

An incredible feat for any publisher but let me go on a bit here. This publisher is literally 6 months old. The next part might seem unbelievable as well. This publisher got started by buying a work from home google kit online. (Who says those things dont work!). This publisher also went thru quite an ordeal a few months back. I was messaged one day that he was heading to the hospital for surgery. I shot him a message and to my surprise he was laying in the hospital bed running his business from a laptop. I dont want to share the details of the surgery but it was quite an ordeal, especially for a young man of his age. Personally, it sort of scared the living shit out of me.

Anyway, I want to quickly share some tips and characteristics of him right quick. In the sake of confidentiality I apologize that I cannot comment too much.

First – What He DOESNT Do:

  1. He doesnt ever bitch, complain or place blame. (Unless tracking goes down ha!). If an offer is doing shitty, you dont see him bitching and moaning about it. While a lot of people prefer to bitch and complain, he’s the type of publisher that is going to work thru it and MAKE it work no matter what.
  2. He’s a productivity machine. Seriously, sometimes I feel bad because we hardly ever talk. Talking is overrated especially when you are in charge of your own business. Talk is cheap and time is money.
  3. Most Importantly – (Pay REALLY Close Attention Here) – Without saying too much, he doesnt bother working in shitty markets. For any of my publishers that know me, asking me for advise in some verticals often turns into me asking “WTF are you doing”? There is a reason Convert2media is heavily loaded in specific verticals with multiple offers. You dont see peddling shitty email and zip submits right? Keep that in mind. The BIG money is MASS MARKETABLE OFFERS. If you are the type that cant get it going in one of those verticals, I guess we need to have a long sit down and chat.

Second – What He Does DO:

  1. He’s a self learner. He doesnt sit around waiting on bits and pieces of information or think he might be missing out on something. That’s a huge production killer. The guy bought a make money online from Google Kit and he is now the master of his own bizopp product should he choose to go that route.
  2. He’s motivated – The talks I have had with this publisher tell me one thing. HE WONT QUIT. He thinks big and he works hard. Some publishers are content with a couple of thousand dollars a month, some are content at 50K a month. This my friends is the guy who wants EVERYTHING.
  3. Work Ethic is absolutely outstanding. Before and after a major surgery the publisher was running his business from a laptop in the hospital. Things like this can change your life, (I’ve got my own health problems) but when it’s just YOU and nobody else, the sacrifices you make are the things that will define and intensify your business.
  4. He understands the CPA Industry – This is important. While there are a ton of niche specific offers out there, let’s face it — The CPA Industry is incestuous with like 5-6 major verticals. There is money to be made all over, but big money comes faster in mass marketable niches. Remember that. C2M knows this, we practice it. I’ve stuck it out for years now as a publisher myself and now as a network owner in the same verticals year in and year out.

To all the publisher who work with us, we thank you all for your business. You are the reason for our tremendous growth over the last 16 months. It’s publishers like you that will hopefully be a part of our exponential growth going into 2010.
