I was really hoping to turn up an interesting source this past weekend. Seriously, I am beginning to get tired of the vast amount of CPM Display companies that I coming across. Most of these companies are usually struggling for revenue and they usually let any ole tom, dick and harry into their network. Basically this means I would be advertising on a ton of porn and made for ad shit sites that yield little but most often NO return. (See Adengage). Nothing against you Adengage, I’ve drank beer twice at your booths in the last year at industry conferences and I am just as brutal here as I am when I am in your face.

Anyway…

Admob is designed to serve Iphoner’s ads. Pure and simple, I would imagine a lot of affiliates have jumped on this. Now would be a good time to test it out. I’m interested to see or hear from anyone that has tested this platform out. If not, I will be throwing out my own tests just as soon as I finish up with AdKnowledge.

Seriously, with all the declining stock talk the pressures on the big G to make some things happen. Now that Youtube has their own sponsored video advertising platform this could help them out. The damn site gets more traffic than heaven. This I can tell you right now, is a blogger blessing. I seriously kid you not. I made a few videos as a blogger last year and with the small amount of views I got (into the thousands), I got a ton of visitors. Seriously, if you ever wanted to create a membership site on teaching people how to make money online, Youtube is a damn fine place to do it.

Not that we are interested in that though right? Seriously, that sounds like a little bit of work and building something for the long term. Pffftt. You came here to get some ideas on how to generate revenue fast with Youtube right?

First off, I am not going to explain how it all works. If your familiar with Pay Per Click platforms, then this should be a cinch. If you are not familiar then Michelle Macphearson has posted a walk-thru.

Now that we established how to do it yourself, it’s time for ideas. Keep the discussion going here.

No idea why this question keeps getting brought up but it seems throughout a lot of the forums and blogs I frequent, everyone is throwing their two cents in on how/why the recession is going to effect affiliate marketing. After speaking with publishers, the question has been brought up more times than I care to mention so I will answer a once and for all type of answer here.

What do I think of the recession?

I simply think you need to STOP thinking about it and finish your work. If you finish early, it’s probably time for you to research another project. If you spend your time wisely working online, there wouldn’t be anytime for some dumbass fancy car, night outs paying for everthing or meeting that new chick that makes you go broke trying to impress. If you had your nose buried in your business and actually took it seriously, you would not even notice a recession. Why? Because I haven’t.

Do I think a recession will hurt affiliate marketers?

I think that others thinking about recession and affiliate marketing and then writing about it does hurt people at some point. Instead of thinking about a recession, why dont you think about how you can currently extend that 200% ROI campaign into a 300% ROI Campaign? I realize a lot of bloggers out there want to be opinionated and are completely entitled to say whatever I want but seriously…It makes you look like a complete moron talking about it in a negative light. In the CPA Industry it’s been nothing short of a blessing.

Do I think it will get worse?

Do I care really? No. I manage and build and I dont look up. I would suggest you do the same. By the time you realize that a recession was going on, it will be about that time that we pull thru it.

Recession talk is crap. If you got time to sit around and talk about it, then you’re not working hard enough. Writing this post was crap too but maybe if you see it, you wont be inclined to bring everyone else down by talking about it. That’s all.

I got a bit of a break Saturday. Actually, I got to a point where I told myself to shut down communications and only answer phone calls. I challenged myself to go out and find a source of information that could lead our company into another form of advertising expansion. In doing so, I surprised even myself. This morning I would like to present two sources that offer more ideas and ways to advertise than I have ever come across.

TechCrunch Company Index

KillerStartups.com

Normally I would be a tight-ass and keep them to myself. However, I am the first person that would tell you about something if I knew it would hinder me in some way. There are simply too many resources here for it to cut us down in any way. With that being said, you simply got to check both of them out. Tons of companies in there you can get with today and start to differentiate yourself from the regular ppc crowd.

Convert2media would like to wish all publishers, advertisers, networks, readers and friends a Happy and hopefully safe Halloween. Seems like just yesterday I was dragging out hay bales into the town streets and lighting them on fire. I cannot forget the mummifaction we did with the city park in toilet paper and soap either. It’s a good thing I’m fatter and have no desire to run unless there is a fat candy bar waiting for me, or I would possibly consider doing it again.

We hope you dont try any of that stuff!

Happy Halloween and a quick word that the entire Convert2Media team will be in New York City for AdTech from Sunday until Wednesday. If you see us moping around, come up and say hi. I would imagine Steve will have the team handing out shirts and goodies so be sure to raid his backpack if you see him.
