“SMX” East will be heading to New York City on October 5-7 2009. This conference is a bit different than what most of the Performance Publishers are accustomed to. Typically, the events such as Affiliate Summit and Adtech are high priorities for publishers but I wanted to share a resourceful event that helped catapult my business as an affiliate before coming on with C2M.
Usually I only suggest getting an expo pass because quite frankly the sessions at other shows are pretty boring. At SMX however, they sort allocate more speakers and segregate sessions into much more focused learning experiences. Whether you are just starting in Affiliate Marketing, sitting on the fence to jump in or are an experience marketer, there is bound to be something useful for you. I was looking over the SMX East Agenda today and saw a ton of sessions that look great. C2M will be sending its own managers to the conference for education and networking. Some of the sessions that caught my eye were:
- Mobile Search Ads – Focus On PPC
- Mobile Search Apps & Opportunities
- Amazing PPC Tactics
- Pumping Up Youtube
- SEO & International Issues
- Search Meet Display: Display Meet Search
- Pumping Up WordPress For SEO
- Ask The Paid Search Reps – YES THIS ONE LOOKS GREAT!
There are a ton of sessions but those really stood out and will be ones that I am personally attending. To walk into a session regarding mobile marketing you can be subjected to a ton of new traffic sources. The networking at an event like this is phenomenal.
If you are the “expo hall” only type, there is going to be a ton of networking going on. Companies such as:
- Bing
- iProspect
- 7Search
- eZanga
- Marchex
- Search Return
All of these companies are available to be networked with and possible strategies on how you can utilize their services. Already knowing the traffic available from Marchex, I’m personally looking forward to speaking with someone face to face over there. A lot of 2nd tier traffic sources will be at the event and we all know how hard it can be just to get approved for an account. A good idea is to just carry your laptop with you and get your account approved right there on site. Another good idea is to get yourself a Rep who will personally help and manage you.
