Saturday was a beautiful day and couldnt have been better for a Central Florida meet-up. I was not going to go because I prefer to stay a recluse in my office 24/7 but at the consistent verbage from Steve and Ryan calling me a wimp and wuss, I went. I’m glad I did. As much as I love conferences and networking in general, I got to meet some really great people from within the industry as well as another network. Thanks to Affiliate Confession for the only two photos I could find lol. I promise to bring a camera next time.
Ryan, Myself and Steve are in the back left corner of the pic.
A little schwag was given out. Thanks to Amped Media for giving schwag also.
Those in attendance were:
Kiley Lenstrom – Thanks to Kiley for getting this gig up and running.
Gary
Billy
Alan LeStourgeon (me)
Ken Jenkins – Newbie and willing to learn
Steve Katz (Market Leverage)
Richard Bruner (Market Leverage)
Ralph Ruckman (Convert2Media)

It looks like every third Saturday we will be going to these. Anyone in interested in affiliate marketing and located in Central Florida should hit me up and I will let you know the details of the next Steak Out. Even if this doesn’t interest you, you should come for networking aspect of it. I ended up having a REALLY big glass of beer and spilled some good tips.

According to the Adwords Blog, effective February 24th Google has implemented a a change to their Adwords Policy. Basically for some of us, I mean you blackhatters, you are going to have a much tougher time skewing the system with multiple display url domains in each ad group. If you dont know what this means, then dont worry about it because most do and we wont go into the many ways we have screwed, improvised the system.
Google says:
In an effort to provide more relevant results and a high quality experience for our users, we’ve made the decision to disallow multiple display URL domains within a single ad group. Going forward, all display URLs within an ad group must have the same top-level domain. Please note that this amendment to our policy applies to all advertisers, regardless of previous exceptions or acceptability of any ad groups.
This is horse-shit, not what they really mean. Basically tools and methods have evolved into really skewing the system that has allowed PPC Marketers on Adwords to have multiple display urls in each of their adgroups. I guess they are sick of it.
Just as an example of what is allowed and what is not allowed anymore:
For example, an ad group containing the following group of display URLs would comply with this policy because all URLs contain the same top-level domain, “example.com”:
On the other hand, and ad group containing the following group of display URLs would not comply with our policy because their top-level domains don’t match:
Sorry blackhats, it was nice while it lasted. For you whitehats with legitimate cases now (is this possible?), you will now have to make seperate adgroups for each domain. C’mon it provides a better user experience anyway right?

Convert2Media has finally finished moving their offices into Windermere/Orlando Florida. We have got everything setup and are now ready to roll. You will see quite a few advertisers and offers coming over the next week as we work the backlog. You will also see some more up to date changes with the blog and forum.
We want the forum to be a place where you can openly ask questions and look for critique as you start promoting offers. Although we have the IRC channel some people dont like that type of environment as it does get a bit hectic at times in there.
Just wanted to shoot a quick word out that the new offices have been finally settled in and we will be going full blast into the rest of February.
