Uggh.. I will start by saying I’m sort of pumped about this but then again, for anyone that followed my old blog and the last CPA Marketing Series, I can tell you that a lot of people do not take the time and really think about what it takes to put forth such content. After that series was over I was drained. I got slapped in the face with all sorts of ventures and projects and I can tell you right now that being a “Make Money Online” or a “personal type blogger” was really not the route I wanted to take. I felt I needed something different and while blogging here may seem no different to you as a reader, I assure you that in the coming months you will probably really understand why I am here and no longer there.
Anyway…
Not a lot of education out there fellas (and ladies of course) on Media Buys and general web advertising. I can tell you that the second you get into an Affiliate Marketing forum, you are usually overwhelmed with the ideas of SEO, PPC or creating ebooks (if you are in a shitty forum..hint Warrior). Well, I am not here to rag on any one forum for possibly overlooking and hardly discussing one of the EASIEST ways to get started making money online. I’m not even going to sit here and discuss how to use this in making money online in general terms. One of the biggest reasons I blog here is because I deal STRICTLY in the CPA Lead Generation business. You might see me talk about a few cost per sale items, but it will be few and far between. That’s not to say that this wont work for cost per sale items, because it can and it does. However, if I were to tell you any of the following relating to cost per sale items, I would be lying to you because the truth is that I have only marketed lead gen offers via media placements.
We are also going to back track in the next couple of days but it is for good reason. Without starting with an offer, generally you are dead in the water. You can of course have gut instincts and have sites or demographics in your mind but I assure you that speed is ESSENTIAL here and I can 99% guarantee you that after we get thru this series you will never have excuse for NOT making money because of the type of work ethic it really takes to make this successful.
However…
Before you get scared off, (if you are a lazy ass) I can tell you that after doing this JUST ONE TIME SUCCESSFULLY, you are going to be hooked. So before we begin, let me give you a few type of shitty ebook bullet points (without selling you an ebook of course)
- You dont even need a website to start this. Sites are essential and they always will be. However, at the speed and way I will show you how to do this, I am going to show you how to FIND SUCCESSFUL OFFERS BEFORE you even need to think about building a site.
What I just told you right there is the most important part of this system. You might need to re-read it a couple of times and really let it sink in. I’m sure you have seen this before countless times on the web. God knows I have. I will let the series do the talking and of course only then you will truly realize that I aint bullshitting you.
- This is actually a hell of a lot easier to test and much cheaper (usually) than Pay Per Click traffic.
Since the dawn of time, I’ve fought with countless SEO’s and Affiliate Marketers over what I am about to say. The difference between them and me now is that I’ve expanded enough into becoming an affiliate network and they are still dealing with just being an affiliate marketer. Now I aint knocking affiliate marketers because even I am still one myself, but c’mon people. Affiliate Marketers and SEO’s are taught or rationalize themselves on the idea that YOU HAVE to build a site to promote an offer.
Ladies and gentleman, this is utter horseshit and I challenge YOU to challenge ANYONE you know after what you learn in this series to build a site around an offer and head to the search engines for some PPC traffic. I can tell you right now that you are going to have a SEVERE advantage over them. While they may have you beat in regards to people typing keywords and searching for relations to the offer, you will destroy their ass in volume so much to the point they are probably going to want to know exactly what you are doing.
- There is NO quality score to deal with. No pimple-faced social network nazi’s disapproving your ads and definitely LESS competition.
There are two sides in finding success with this type of method. The first side is a 50/50 chance whether you proceed to finding out if the second part will work or not. In the first part (and I will teach you how to become a wizard at this) you are either going to get a simple yes/no type of answer. If it’s no, I will teach you how to negotiate although generally it’s game over and you move on. If it’s yes or you convince the ad agency/webmaster/whatever to implement your advertising campaign then you get to move on the much more detailed synopsis of finding if your offer will work or not. Generally, within two days, you will know if you have a winner or not. Simple right?
You have to learn to walk before you can run though. There is a much needed explained process that I will give to you before getting to part one. Today we will cover just that.
Step 1. - Getting An Offer
Let me just say that eventually you WILL get to a point where you dont even have to look at offer first. However, when that time comes in the series, you will know it because I will pull a 360 on you completely and show you exactly how to do it the other way around. For now, it must stay simple because if you aint got your first ad running by next week from following this series, you will need to leave this series entirely. Seriously, you are not going to find me sticking around answering dumb questions. This is going to be broke down in the simplest terms as if I were just starting out, yet at the same time I am going to give you the golden keys of doing it RIGHT the first time so I dont have to read your hate mail of how “this doesnt work” “I suck” or “this is over my head”.
It’s not over anyone’s head. However after reading affiliate marketing information online for almost 5 years now, why has nobody explained this in such a manner where we dont have people debulking and crying about how they cannot make money online? Sometimes, I wonder these things and scares the hell out of me why even the easiest things in marketing have yet to be talked about.
[End Ramble]
Cruise your favorite network, (not just convert2media, although we love you and appreciate it!) until you get an offer that strikes your eye. I know with all the interfaces out there, shit is different in every one of them but get that little tingling feeling downlow when you come across one and mark it down!
- Look at the landing page FIRST
This is most crucial. Look at the landing page because things should be jumping out at you like little fairies in your favorite dream.
- Keywords - If a dozen keywords do not come right to your mind then your either spacing out and you need to focus harder. You might think I am talking down on you but I am not. I space out at least once an hour because let’s face it. We work on the computer and Youtube/Facebook/Myspace is so much fun. Now you might say to yourself “Ruck this aint PPC, why do I need keywords”. I am not going to say anything about keywords except for this: ‘Keywords make your world go round in CPA Lead Gen business”.
- Demographic Targeting - Right off the bat a set of demographics should stand out in your mind. You promoting a work from home product? Great. We know off the bat (or at least I do) that I should start at women ages 18-35, preferably that stay at home and with lower income levels.
A quick word on that last bullet point. You might start thinking I am a scummy, scammy type affiliate marketer and I am going to assure you that working in the CPA Lead Gen business you are going to run into a TON of shitty offers like this. I leave it to you and your ethics to choose whatever you like but that is just an example that I am using. Kthx.
- Market Knowledge - Ohh this is the good one especially considering that we are going to target places where our demographics searches or hangs out at online. If you dont have knowledge of your market, then you are dead before you start your first campaign.
Here we are going to do a little pulp fiction type maneuver. Dont worry though, it all ties in beautifully but for now, we have to jump around a bit. Just know that before you even start, you should have an offer and general idea of who is going to be interested in it, and a general idea of where they can be found.
CREATIVE DISPLAY
Once you find an offer, you are going to need creatives. Whether they be simple text ads you can write yourself or banner ads, you can be assured that you need an assortment of them. For my “sucker punch” method to saturate your market you NEED creatives. We are not nickel and dime-ing here folks. I’m going to show you how to effectively manipulate any niche (no matter how much competition you think it has) and for this to work, you got to have a creative for EVERY occasion.
I said this once in the forum already and I try to express this every chance I get with every media placement affiliate I speak with. DO NOT just use the network creatives. If your imagination only goes as far as using the network creatives for display campaigns, then you are severing limiting yourself to the possibilities that can be achieved. Matter of fact, I’ve coached dozens of affiliates into successful campaigns and I will tell you right now that 90% of them came to me because the network creatives sucked ass.
Of course they do…
Want to know why? Smart advertisers are going in-house people. Get this thru your heads. Who wouldn’t? It’s so much cheaper especially if you have designated personel that specialize in this.
NO ADVERTISER IS EVER GOING TO GIVE YOU THEIR BEST PERFORMING CREATIVES.
If they do, then they are stupid or have something up their sleeve in which I would not even ponder the thought of guessing. If it were me, and yes I am an advertiser, there is ZERO chance some network (except my own but that would still be pondered heavily) would ever get my best performing pack of creatives. Sorry folks and networks. For the networks who read this, dont think I am dogging on you. We both know this is the way of the land and since none of you have taken it upon yourselves to explain this out in the open.
Allow me.
So right off the bat you are an underdog ESPECIALLY in banner campaigns. Wowza you are so at a disadvantage here. Take this knowledge and for a lack of a better term, stick it right back up their ass and start doing some of your own creatives.
Disclaimer: Always make sure you are allowed to use your own creatives. It’s always a good idea to share what you can with your affiliate manager. No, I dont mean show them the creative unless the level of trust is there. I’ve always, even as a network owner myself told people to hide everything they can.
These are the basics for today and yes I realize I am a day late (almost two) with starting this series but shit happens when you party naked so tomorrow we are going to go over how to hone in on prospects. This will include everything you need from researching sites to contacting the appropriate owners/agencies.
It’s Saturday so go have a cold one…

Thanks, Ruck. I am tuned in big-time to this - have the perfect offer in mind and set aside enough cash to try it out when you started hinting around about this series.
I’ll see what you guys have at c2m, too. I remember signing up back when you all first got going but I never heard from anyone to verify/approve and it fell off my radar. Tried your signup just now but looks like the server is having some struggles. I’ll be back. Cheers

I read your first series, had it printed out and everything, it helped me so much. I’m making good money from PPC and I think that series had some of the best information I’ve ever read on pay-per-click marketing. I can’t wait to check this out. I’ve never really thought about doing media buys but I have no doubt that I will be doing it soon. I don’t know anyone that would take so much time to write a series like this without getting something in return. I’ll be following this closely!

Excellent Matt,
Throw us an application and we’ll get ya hooked up. Checking out the issues now although I have not noticed anything. We have a much more stable approval process now.
Hey Drew,
Excellent news on the PPC front man, congrats! If you have ever worked the Google Content Network then this is really in the same sense. A lot of it will tie into Content Network fundamentals but I definitely will try to throw some curves out there to get those creative juices goin.
